In 1969, in the Anthracite Coal Region of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Dickson City, Olyphant, and Throop school districts merged to become the Mid-Valley School District. Soon afterward, plans were made to build the new Mid-Valley Junior-Senior High School. The plans were put on hold indefinitely. I believe that lives can be saved by spreading awareness and supporting one another in the knowledge that this is a team responsibility. I believe that we can prevent the next major school tragedy through awareness. One tragedy is too many. This book will be a valuable resource to give those responsible for the lives of students the ability to recognize the negative patterns of criminal conduct.

What would I share with a new teacher? No, I do not have the wealth of wisdom stored up for the ages. But I have learned some things (often the hard way) that may help those who are starting their own adventures into this wonderful world of teaching.
